Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of transportation projects across the firm, collaborating with seasoned engineers on Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and P3 initiatives. You will prepare roadway designs using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and contribute to reports and plan production.

The role supports remote work with a preferred hybrid setup based near Fairfax, VA, with travel as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
8+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
Active PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Proficient in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling.

Responsibilities

Lead or support technical design on transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways).
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative design solutions.
Serve as technical liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Develop and review plans, specs, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
Ensure quality control and compliance with standards.
Stay informed on industry trends and new delivery methods.
