Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to help plan, design, and deliver transportation projects across delivery types. You will work with experienced engineers and PMs on ORD-based roadway design, reports, modeling, and plan production, with travel as needed.

Fully remote candidates will be considered, though a Fairfax, VA hybrid is preferred. Support and mentor teams, ensure QC, and contribute to proposals on DOT projects, tollways, and corridors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer for roadway design and modeling.
• Experience with multiple state DOT standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on highways, interchanges, tollways, and transit corridors.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary offices to develop cost-effective design solutions.
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
• Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project career development.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Stay informed about industry trends and alternative delivery methods.
