Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects across our offices. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers on design-build, P3, and other delivery methods, and prepare roadway design plans using OpenRoads Designer.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior staff, ensuring quality control, and communicating with clients and stakeholders. Hybrid work in Fairfax, VA is preferred, with remote options and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
• PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on highways, interchanges, tollways, and transit corridors.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop design solutions.
• Serve as liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Develop and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
• Participate in proposal development, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support career development within the project team.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Stay informed about industry trends and alternative delivery methods.
