Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead highway and roadway design projects for Virginia DOT and municipal clients. The role involves steering a skilled engineering team on multi-modal transportation planning and design projects across Virginia and within RK&K's portfolio.

Relocation assistance is available; sign-on bonus may be considered. The position supports hybrid work arrangements and collaboration with clients and sub-consultants.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Experience using OpenRoads Designer / MicroStation / InRoads and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of Federal, State and local design criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-modal transportation planning and design projects for clients in Virginia and beyond.
• Review and certify engineering plans, models and documents to meet quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineering and technician staff on transportation design tasks.
• Produce and oversee construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and develop relationships with clients, consultants, and agencies.
