Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead highway and roadway design projects for VDOT and municipal clients in Virginia. You will guide a team of engineers on multi-modal transportation planning, design, and delivery while ensuring quality, on-time performance, and client satisfaction.

Relocation assistance is available and we welcome candidates across the United States. A hybrid work model (office plus remote work) is offered to support project needs and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Experience using OpenRoads Designer / MicroStation / InRoads and strong proficiency in Microsoft products.
• Strong understanding of Federal, State and local design criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-modal transportation planning and design projects.
• Review and certify engineering plans and documents to meet quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineering staff on transportation design tasks.
• Coordinate and develop relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies and project staff.
• Prepare for and facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approvals of plans.
