Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Deputy Project Manager/Client Service Leader in Connecticut to drive project delivery for a major transportation program and lead client relationships with CTDOT. You will oversee scope, schedule, budget, and quality while mentoring staff and aligning with Jacobs’ Northeast growth strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer license in CT or ability to obtain within timeframe
• Progressive experience delivering transportation planning, design, or program management
• Proven success managing large, complex highway/transportation projects
• Strong knowledge of CTDOT standards, procedures, and stakeholder environment
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and teams
• Proven ability to develop staff and lead through influence
• Strong client-service, communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
• Experience supporting business development, capture planning, proposals, and client interviews
• Ability to operate across project delivery, people leadership, and client development responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Serve as PM/DPM on large, complex, multidisciplinary transportation project.
• Support the Project Manager in managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, change, staffing, and client expectations.
• Coordinate roadway, bridge, traffic, drainage, environmental, rail, and supporting disciplines.
• Provide visible leadership to CT transportation team and transition to future leadership role.
• Mentor technical leads and emerging leaders to promote collaboration and career development.
• Serve as a Client Service Leader for CTDOT, building trusted relationships and coordinating Jacobs’ engagement.
• Develop and implement client account plans aligned with CTDOT priorities and Jacobs’ Northeast growth strategy.
• Identify, qualify, and shape upcoming opportunities including large design programs and on-call work.
• Lead or support capture planning, teaming strategies, proposals, presentations, and interviews.
• Apply project governance, quality management, and commercial practices to improve outcomes.
• Collaborate across Jacobs’ regional and national network for Connecticut clients.
• Represent Jacobs at client meetings, professional organizations, and industry events.
