Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Transportation Planning Project Manager to join our Virginia Transportation Systems team with locations in Richmond, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Tysons Corner, or Washington, DC area.

You will lead multimodal studies, mentor staff, and coordinate with public and private clients to balance mobility and growth. The ideal candidate has 11+ years in transportation planning/engineering, AICP or PE licensure, and strong leadership/communication skills for a

Qualifications

• 11+ years of transportation planning/engineering experience (consulting preferred).
• AICP certification or PE license required.
• Experience leading teams and/or projects.
• Experience with Virginia transportation clients and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead multimodal transportation projects including corridor studies, safety audits, and operations analyses.
• Review technical traffic engineering work conducted by others.
• Perform and manage safety-focused planning efforts.
• Develop technical memoranda, reports, graphics, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Support transportation policies and programs for Virginia communities.
• Lead public and stakeholder engagement, including workshops and online engagement.
• Manage tasks, budgets, and schedules for project components; contribute to project management.
• Contribute to proposals, project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Serve as a task or discipline lead on multidisciplinary projects.
• Manage projects and staff on technical and professional growth.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
