Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Senior Transportation Consultant for Virginia Beach, Richmond or Williamsburg to lead complex roadway projects and produce drawings, plans, and reports with limited supervision.

You will mentor CAD staff, coordinate with project teams, and ensure design quality while leveraging tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Open Roads. A bachelor’s in civil engineering and 15+ years of transportation experience are preferred, with a hybrid, flexible

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred.
• 15+ years of experience on complex transportation projects.
• Experience with Virginia locality or VDOT transportation projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops engineering drawings, conceptual plans, and exhibits for a variety of projects.
• Plans, researches, and produces contract drawings based on constraints defined by the Project Manager, review agencies, and client needs.
• Designs roadway based on information, schematics, and calculations developed by Designer.
• Provides CAD mentoring for other designers and engineers.
