SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNER (STATION AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE)

Job Overview

This position involves senior-level technical planning, programming, and project support, focusing on reviewing station designs, renovation plans, and ensuring compliance with design standards. Responsibilities include drafting updates, coordinating with departments, and researching best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support analysis of transportation projects, programs, and policies.
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and contracts.
  • Coordinate meetings with Metro and external agencies.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and negotiations.
  • Manage projects, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Conduct analyses and make policy recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance and evaluate project costs and benefits.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Apply statistical analysis procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO policies.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and experience combination: Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Master's preferred) and three years of related experience in transportation planning, project management, urban design, or related areas. Valid California driver's license preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience reviewing architectural and site plans for transit stations.
  • Experience with urban design and public realm improvements.
  • Proficiency in graphics and architectural software (Adobe InDesign, AutoCAD, PowerPoint).
  • Landscape design experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of transportation planning principles, laws, financial analysis, project management, and software applications. Skills include conducting planning studies, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and decision-making. Ability to analyze data, meet deadlines, develop strategies, and represent Metro professionally.

Conditions and Environment

Work primarily in an office setting with computer use. Physical demands include sitting, typing, and communication. Reasonable accommodations are provided for disabilities.
