Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Assistant General Manager, Transportation in Belvidere, IL to lead transportation operations, fleet readiness, and data-driven improvements across the network. You will partner across Distribution Centers, Fleet, Stores, and Home Office to ensure on-time deliveries and optimal cost performance.

Responsibilities include leading planning, dispatch, routing, and driver support; monitoring performance metrics; driving continuous improvement; and ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required.
• Experience leading transportation, logistics, supply chain, distribution, or fleet operations.
• Experience managing leaders and associates in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using operational and financial metrics to drive performance.
• Experience managing safety, compliance, and workforce initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day transportation operations to ensure on-time delivery and objectives.
• Lead teams for transportation planning, dispatch, routing, driver support, and freight movement.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements for efficiency and outcomes.
• Collaborate with DCs, Fleet Maintenance, Stores, and Home Office to support priorities.
• Drive readiness to meet changing business demands and customer expectations.
• Maximize fleet availability, utilization, and reliability; support maintenance programs.
• Analyze data to identify trends and improve performance; monitor KPIs.
• Support implementation of digital tools, automation, and analytics.
• Lead incident resolution and contingency planning during disruptions.
• Promote continuous improvement and adherence to standard procedures.
