Job summary

Somerset Court Of Rocky Mount is seeking a dedicated Resident Transporter to transport residents safely to medical appointments, social activities, and other outings within our community. This role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered service and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with boarding, vehicle maintenance, schedule coordination, and accurate logkeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Previous experience in a transportation, healthcare, or customer service role (preferred).
• Ability to safely operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided if necessary).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and walkers.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as directed.
• Provide assistance to residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report any issues or concerns to management.
• Work closely with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and efficient route planning.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols to ensure a secure and positive travel experience for residents.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience during transportation.
