Job summary

The Landings of Rockingham is seeking a compassionate Resident Transporter to safely shuttle residents to medical appointments, social events, and activities. You will assist residents during boarding, maintain clean, safe vehicles, and coordinate transportation with staff to ensure timely routes.

Training is provided for operating passenger vehicles and helping residents with mobility devices. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license with a clean record,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
• Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service (preferred)
• Ability to safely operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided if necessary)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and walkers

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as directed.
• Resident Assistance: Provide assistance to residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report any issues or concerns to management.
• Schedule Coordination: Work closely with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and efficient route planning.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols to ensure a secure and positive travel experience for residents.
• Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate transportation logs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Customer Service: Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience during transportation.]
