Job summary

CJ Schwan's is hiring a Logistics Technician to support centralized freight management for finished goods and raw materials at Hopkins, MN or Marshall, MN. You will develop and execute plans based on freight classifications, schedules and deadlines across multiple plants.

The role requires living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul or Marshall areas, and sponsorship or relocation cannot be provided. Base salary ranges $48,000–$80,000 with a 5% incentive bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years in transportation logistics or related roles.
• Ability to work in a team and resolve problems.
• Proficient PC skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with TMS or load-building software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transport and distribution methods to build cost-effective carrier plans.
• Analyze logistics patterns, rates and resources to find cost savings.
• Explain cost impacts to management and clarify drivers.
• Collaborate in intra- and inter-team settings for success.
• Ensure freight delivery in peak and non-peak periods.
• Be primary contact for freight providers and scheduling.
• Own internal/external receiving and shipping point contacts.
• Work with customers to solve problems and address issues.
• Manage data in a TMS and guide team via rotating leadership.
