Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr Coordinator, Transportation to support transportation and logistics by performing clerical tasks and managing backhaul functions to optimize processes for efficiency.

The role requires at least three years of warehousing admin experience, strong communication, and proficiency with systems like Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, and Excel. Schedule: Sunday–Thursday; office environment with occasional warehouse exposure and safety considerations.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of warehouse administrative or clerical experience.
• Prior logistics, transportation, and/or warehouse experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Intermediate computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls to resolve driver, sales representative, and customer issues; communicate route updates to drivers.
• Utilize systems to create, update, and distribute reports supporting transportation operations.
• Maintain and track transportation metrics (attendance, DVIRs, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch).
• Complete damages and shorts process, including vendor/driver communication and documentation.
• Support training and development of junior clerical teammates.
• Coordinate key updates to support backhaul and transportation operations (arrival times, scheduling, service updates).
• Optimize routing and scheduling to minimize cost while maintaining compliance.
