Job summary

STV seeks a Senior Construction Inspector to support our Transportation Division in Virginia Beach and Richmond, VA. You will inspect highway, bridge, rail, and tunnel projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across sites with regular travel to project locations.

Ideal candidates have at least 7 years of inspection experience and hold or are able to acquire required VA/VDOT certifications within 6 months. STV offers a comprehensive benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of construction inspection experience.
• Certifications listed above or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection activities on highway, bridge, rail, and tunnel projects.
• Apply safety philosophy and work outdoors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls for the construction contractor and inspection of the work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform on-site material testing and sampling.
• Perform measurement and documentation of completed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
• Effectively communicate with project staff and clients, verbally and in writing.
• Basic knowledge of computer and tablet (iPad) operation.
