Job summary

Stantec seeks Senior Construction Inspectors (or Transportation Engineering Technicians) to join our transportation team in Virginia or Maryland. You will perform daily inspections, ensure contractor compliance with plans and specs, and prepare data for engineers to modify projects.

This role emphasizes QA/QC, site coordination, and mentorship. Qualified candidates have a technical degree, 7+ years of field experience, and knowledge of VDOT standards.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in construction inspection.
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of roadway, structure and bridge construction/maintenance methods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects of varying complexity.
• Coordinate inspections with contractor and client stakeholders.
• Prepare and review inspection reports and documentation for QC/QA.
• Monitor compliance with plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Mentor less experienced staff in procedures and software.
