Bowman Consulting in Richmond, VA is seeking a Transportation Engineer III - Traffic to join our team. This role will execute complex traffic engineering tasks, lead studies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable transportation solutions that reduce congestion and improve safety for all users.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, a civil engineering background, and strong skills in traffic analysis, design software, and client engagement.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• EIT registration required or 6+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Five or more (5+) years of professional engineering experience with an emphasis on transportation engineering or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of Synchro, HCS, AutoCAD or MicroStation, VISSIM, SIDRA, and/or BlueBeam.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle check strongly preferred.
• PE Registration preferred within six months.
• Experience with preparation of construction plans/studies for roadway/traffic projects and QA/QC.

• Lead or assist transportation engineering and planning work; learn and contribute under senior staff.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and internal teams to promote firm capabilities.
• Prepare and lead analyses and concept designs for traffic studies and corridor analyses.
• Create maps/graphics for meetings; conduct data collection and stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permits and designs.
• Lead grant applications and other funding-related services.
• Draft communications and proposals; participate in project/public meetings.
• Provide QA/QC for multiple projects and mentor junior staff.
