Job summary

VHB is seeking a Senior Transportation Roadway Engineer to lead the delivery of roadway and multimodal projects across Virginia from our Richmond hub with hybrid work options. You'll mentor junior engineers, guide projects from concept through construction, and collaborate with clients, planners, and designers to improve mobility, safety, and efficiency for communities.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MS a plus.
• 8+ years of professional transportation roadway engineering experience.
• PE certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering duties as a lead project engineer on transportation projects, including analysis and design.
• Oversee design and production of highway widenings/reconstruction, intersection improvements, roundabouts, shared-use paths, and bike/pedestrian facilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate client deliverables within budgets and schedules.
• Apply VHB standards and best practices to ensure quality control of work products.
• Meet with clients to prepare and validate scopes of work and support project coordination.
