Job summary

Confidential Employer in Meriden, CT is seeking a Transportation Engineer with 5+ years of experience and a CT PE license to lead planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects.

You will develop designs for highways, bridges, trails, and complete streets, prepare technical docs, and manage schedules and budgets while mentoring junior staff. Position is full-time and on-site with some remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional transportation engineering experience.
• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (BS/MS).
• Active Connecticut PE license required.
• Experience with highways, bridges, trails, complete streets, or pedestrian facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects from concept through completion.
• Develop innovative engineering designs for highways, roadways, bridges, multi-use trails, pedestrian facilities, and complete streets projects.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and design documentation.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining high engineering and quality standards.
• Collaborate with municipalities, transportation agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance throughout engineering design, permitting, and construction contract administration.
• Support traffic engineering, traffic planning, and transportation improvement initiatives.
• Build strong client relationships and help mentor junior engineers and project team members.
