Job summary

State of West Virginia Transportation Engineer 4 leads cement and concrete QA for precast and ready-mix operations, inspecting labs and reviewing materials. The role develops specifications and teaches PCC inspector schools while making engineering decisions within policy.

Candidates should have a WV P.E. license (or be eligible by comity in 6 months) and a ABET-accredited engineering degree. Travel and supervisory duties may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed P.E. in WV or eligible by comity within 6 months of hire.
• ABET-accredited degree from an approved engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the state Quality Assurance program for precast and prestressed concrete.
• Assist with concrete mix design reviews and approve related materials.
• Perform District concrete laboratory inspections and prepare the reports.

Education

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in West Virginia (or licensed in another state with comity)

ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, petroleum, mining, environmental, or related engineering field
