Job summary

The State of West Virginia, Division of Highways, seeks a Transportation Engineer 4 to lead bridge evaluation and oversee complex civil engineering projects in Cabell County. The role requires a P.E.

license in WV, an ABET‑accredited civil engineering degree, and 7+ years of progressive experience, with 3+ years post-licensure in design/construction supervision. Join a team directing multi‑million-dollar programs, supervising professionals, and shaping high-level engineering determinations

Qualifications

• Requires licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in West Virginia, or the ability to obtain by comity within 6 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, petroleum, mining, environmental, engineering technology, or related field from ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced engineering leadership and technical oversight on projects.
• Oversee multi-million-dollar capital improvement programs and contract management.
• Direct supervision of Transportation Engineers I–III, EITs, TRETs and administrative staff.
