Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a District Bridge Evaluation Engineer to perform professional engineering duties in bridge evaluation, load analysis, and supervision of staff. The role requires a PE license, ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, and licensure by comity within 6 months.

Travel is required; a valid driver's license is necessary. You will review bridge designs, provide guidance to subordinates, and ensure technical validity of analyses, with opportunities to train and mentor

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of West Virginia or eligible by comity within 6 months of hire.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree as a minimum requirement.
• Leadership and supervision experience in engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional engineering as the District Bridge Evaluation Engineer with load analysis.
• Supervise and train evaluation staff and review new bridge design work for compliance.
• Provide guidance, review plans, and ensure validity of structural analyses.
• Travel required; valid driver's license is necessary.

Education

ABET-accredited engineering degree

Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, petroleum, mining, environmental, or related engineering field
