Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineering Designer to join our Highway & Rail Team.

You will lead the preparation and development of contract and construction drawings for highway and rail projects using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, while mentoring junior designers. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet schedules and budgets, supporting project reviews, reports, and field documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in document production within engineering.
• NHDOT experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads; Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication; collaborative work ethic.
• Ability to lead design drawing layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and development of contract and construction drawings for highway and rail projects using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Mentor junior and mid-level designers, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and multidisciplinary teams to meet requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Participate in project reviews and support technical reports, costs, and estimates.
• Prepare project As-Builts and support field assignments as needed.
