Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a seasoned Design Build Transportation Design Manager to lead design delivery for major highway and bridge projects across the U.S. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and drive collaboration among clients, contractors, and offices.

The role emphasizes delivering complex projects through Design-Build and P3/PPP approaches, with a focus on leadership, innovation, and client satisfaction in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 15+ years managing complex transportation design projects.
• Design Manager experience on Design-Build and/or P3/PPP projects.
• Experience delivering highway and bridge projects from concept to construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of design for large transportation projects including DB and P3/PPP pursuits.
• Serve as the primary design leadership representative with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Direct multidisciplinary design teams across offices to ensure collaboration and execution.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk while aligning with contracts.
• Collaborate with controls and scheduling teams to monitor performance and address challenges.
• Ensure high standards of technical quality and design coordination.
• Develop execution strategies, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
• Mentor project engineers, discipline leads, and staff for growth.
• Drive communication among design, construction, and project management teams.
• Review schedules and milestones; assess impacts of scope changes on delivery and budget.
• Support business development, client engagement, interviews, and proposals.
