Job summary

Trilon Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Transportation Design-Build (PE) to lead complex highway design-build projects from Charlotte or Raleigh, North Carolina. The role oversees pursuit through design and construction support, coordinating with contractors, owner agencies, and subconsultants to deliver on time and within budget.

Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, a North Carolina PE license, and at least 10 years’ highway

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active North Carolina Professional Engineer license.
• At least 10 years of highway/transportation design experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design-build projects.
• Preference for 5+ years supporting NCDOT design-build.
• Strong client, contractor, and owner-agency relationship management.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage budgets, schedules, risks, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Manage highway design-build projects including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate with construction partners.
• Serve as primary contact for contractor clients and owner agencies.
• Guide projects from pursuit through design and construction support.
• Establish project execution plans and track milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify risks and drive timely resolution of technical, contractual, and delivery issues.
• Manage contracts, amendments, change orders, claims, subconsultants, and project financials.
• Implement quality-control processes for constructible, compliant deliverables.
• Mentor project managers and staff to foster a high-performing team.
• Support projects in North Carolina and southeastern U.S.
