Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA seeks a Construction Management – Construction Specialist to support transportation infrastructure and project controls. The role focuses on estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, and coordination with clients and contractors.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in civil/construction engineering, at least 10 years of transportation CM experience, and a PE license preferred in PA.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Must have at least 10 years of transportation construction management experience, including five years as contractor or Owner’s representative.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be familiar with Bluebeam and able to read and interpret plans/specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop or evaluate cost estimates and CPM schedules at all design phases.
• Produce detailed cost estimates for transportation, transit, & commercial construction documents.
• Maintain records for estimates, schedules, and constructability reviews.
• Deliver estimating, scheduling, and constructability support for value engineering and change orders.
• Communicate findings, schedules, costs, and risks to clients.
• Observe construction operations to verify contract compliance.
• Prepare daily reports, quantity calculations, and testing docs.
• Coordinate with teams, utility providers, railroads, and government agencies.
• Maintain communication with contractors, designers, and clients to progress deliverables.
• Perform quality-control testing of materials as needed.
