Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for highway, bridge and other infrastructure projects in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. The successful candidate will supervise standard inspection procedures on behalf of clients such as PennDOT and PA Turnpike, ensuring safety and conformance to plans and codes.

The role requires NICET certification and a valid driver's license, with responsibilities including supervising inspection staff,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience).
• 4+ years of Transportation, Highway or Bridge Construction Inspection Experience.
• Current valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards.
• Oversee, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• M ake field notes and computations.
• Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
