Job summary

Stantec seeks Senior Construction Inspectors or Transportation Engineering Technicians to join our Transportation team in Virginia or Maryland. The role focuses on field inspection of roadway, structure, and bridge projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with plans and standards.

Primary duties include coordinating with contractors and client staff, preparing data for engineers, and generating progress reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of field construction inspection experience.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Experience with roadway, structure, and bridge construction and associated materials.
• Familiarity with VDOT procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Work with general supervision on average sized projects under the guidance of a Construction Manager.
• Perform daily inspection efforts on multiple complex projects to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specs and contract documents.
• Prepare sketches and data for Responsible Charge Engineer to use when changing the project.
• Ensure quality control and contractor compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects of varying complexity.
• Coordinate inspections with contractor, client personnel and other stakeholders.
• Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract terms and specifications.
• Generate reports of inspection findings and document progress for monthly estimates and pay quantities.
• Train and mentor less experienced staff in company procedures and software.
