Placements24 client, a progressive engineering and planning firm, seeks a Transportation Engineer to join their expanding team. This role is remote with a base focus in Welkom, Free State, South Africa, contributing to sustainable mobility and improved infrastructure.

You'll conduct traffic studies, develop plans, design roads, and evaluate transportation projects, collaborating with urban planners and government agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation specialization.
• ECSA registration is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in transportation planning or traffic engineering.
• Experience with SIDRA, VISSIM, or HCS.
• Proficient CAD skills.
• Experience with municipal or provincial authorities in SA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic studies, data collection, and analysis.
• Develop transportation plans including network analysis and demand forecasting.
• Design road infrastructure including intersections and geometry.
• Evaluate feasibility considering safety, environment, and economy.
• Prepare technical reports and proposals.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Utilize traffic simulation software like VISSIM, SIDRA.
• Ensure designs meet SA standards.
• Contribute to sustainable transport solutions.
