Job summary

Primoris T&D provides construction, maintenance, and engineering of electric Transmission, Distribution, and Substation infrastructure across the United States. The Project Manager II will lead medium to large transmission/substation projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and performance are met.

Responsibilities include planning, cost control, risk management, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional team leadership while maintaining compliance with customer and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 3-5 years of project management experience in utility, transmission, substation, energy, infrastructure, or heavy construction.
• PMP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of multiple transmission and substation projects with full responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety performance.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and performance metrics.
• Direct cross-functional teams including procurement, construction, project controls, and finance to achieve project objectives.
• Manage complex project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions to maintain project performance.
• Oversee contractor performance, subcontractor coordination, and vendor relationships to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Review, negotiate, and approve project change orders, claims, and contract modifications.
• Monitor project financial performance, including earned value, forecasting accuracy, cost controls, and variance analysis.
• Lead project status meetings and provide executive-level reports on project progress, risks, and financial health.
• Serve as the primary customer interface for assigned projects and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor Project Managers I, Project Coordinators, and other project team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and incorporate lessons learned into future project execution strategies.
• Lead project closeout activities, including turnover documentation, contract reconciliation, final billing, and post-project reviews.
