Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks an experienced project manager to lead multidisciplinary teams in design, modification, and analysis of high voltage substations, coordinating with engineers, estimators, and scheduling professionals.

The role offers a hybrid work model with three days in the office and two remote, a generous relocation package where applicable, and a comprehensive benefits program including health plans, retirement, and professional development.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BS preferably from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission, Substation or Energy Projects.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
• 10+ years of experience in design engineering and/or management of high voltage utility projects.
• Experience with EPC/Owners Engineer/Traditional or JV project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Direct the team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with high quality.
• Develop scope changes and obtain client approval.
• Coordinate system design to meet specs, codes and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies in a clear, client-ready format.
• Review work including calculations, drawings, reports, specs.
• Communicate with clients for project and account support.
• Support business development with existing and potential clients.
• Provide independent reviews of scopes, proposals and procurement specs.
• Develop and mentor team members.
