Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in the New York area seeks a Transmission Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high-voltage engineering design projects from 34.5kV to 500kV.

You will coordinate schedules, manage budgets, and guide engineers and technicians while interfacing with clients. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in transmission design or management, a ABET-accredited degree, and a strong grasp of industry standards (NESC/IEEE).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering design and/or management experience on transmission projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree ABET-accredited in civil/structural or electrical engineering.
• Ability to independently direct a team of Engineers & Technicians while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of overhead and underground transmission facilities and integration into daily activities.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE and other industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and billing.
• Manage engineering and financial aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
• Prepare scope and estimates for proposals and statements of qualifications to utility clients.
• Develop project work plans and budget projections to effectively deploy people on project.
• Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics including backlog, work in process and receivables.
• Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects.
• Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Provide guidance for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
• Collaborate with department management to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments on company-wide initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with clients and seek opportunities with potential future clients.
