Job summary

1898 & Co., a Burns & McDonnell company, seeks a Transmission Planning Project Manager to oversee complex planning studies, develop client relationships, and guide teams through multi-phase initiatives. You will manage scope, schedule, and budget while delivering compliant, high-quality solutions for North American grids.

Lead technical studies, apply NERC/FERC standards, and mentor engineers. Strong communication and leadership are essential in a dynamic, client-facing role with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, computer science or a related field.
• 5 years of related professional experience.
• Knowledge in project management, techniques, and procedures.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Experience leading technical consulting engagements in power systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects from business development through execution.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, scope, budgets, and schedules; ensure quality deliverables.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and promote technical excellence.
• Lead and coordinate advanced transmission planning studies and regulatory interpretation.
