Job summary

1898 & Co., a Burns & McDonnell division, seeks experienced Transmission Planning Consultants to support our nationwide practice. You will apply power system analysis, perform planning studies, and help clients manage generation retirements, renewables integration, and regulatory requirements.

You will prepare technical reports and client-facing presentations, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with project teams to deliver data-driven solutions under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to lead teams.
• Knowledge of NERC, FERC standards and regional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission planning and operational studies (power flow, stability, etc.).
• Develop client reports and presentations summarizing study results.
• Collaborate across internal practices and support other business lines.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical methodology improvements.
• Ensure compliance with NERC/FERC and regional requirements.
