Job summary

LS Power seeks a Manager, Transmission Planning to lead planning activities across its growing transmission portfolio. Based in St.

Louis, MO, the role combines technical leadership with cross-functional teamwork to improve reliability and economics of projects. You will perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, stability), guide interconnection processes, and mentor engineers while coordinating with Development, Regulatory, and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience performing power flow, short circuit, and other transmission studies independently.
• Strong knowledge of NERC, FERC, and ISO/RTO processes.
• Hands-on experience with planning tools (PSS/E, PowerWorld, etc.).
• Experience with ISO/RTO regions and interconnection processes.
• Ability to lead complex technical assignments and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform complex power system modeling and simulations.
• Lead transmission planning studies identifying needs and opportunities.
• Develop and evaluate transmission solutions for project development.
• Coordinate interconnection studies with utilities and ISO/RTOs.
• Lead interconnection processes across ISO/RTO regions.
• Provide planning expertise for project development and acquisitions.
• Support asset operations and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Regulatory, Operations teams.
• Represent LS Power before ISO/RTOs and committees.
• Monitor FERC, NERC, and evolving planning rules.
• Coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices.
