Job summary

Tucson Electric Power is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to develop WECC base cases, perform contingency analyses and determine feasible long-range transmission solutions in line with NERC WECC standards and TEP criteria. The role spans Engineer I through Senior levels and requires collaboration with Engineering, System Control & Reliability and other groups.

You'll model and evaluate HV/EHV transmission options, coordinate with WECC and customers, and contribute to generator

Qualifications

BS or higher in Electrical Engineering with ability to run power flow and stability studies.
Experience with WECC/NERC planning standards is preferred.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

Develops long range transmission plans compliant with NERC WECC standards and TEP requirements.
Develops and evaluates HV and EHV transmission and substation planning requirements.
Coordinates with Engineering, System Control & Reliability and other groups to develop feasible solutions.
Develops and maintains transmission planning processes and guidelines.
Performs engineering analysis of future EHV and HV transmission requirements.
Coordinates with WECC, customers and other entities on models and interconnections.
Trains and assists new personnel within the section.
