Job summary

New Leaf Energy, a renewable energy developer, seeks a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer in a hybrid Boston-based role. You will lead transmission modeling, assess feasibility of site upgrades, and guide interconnection strategies for utility-scale projects.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external engineers, review ISO studies, and mentor others while advancing New Leaf Energy’s grid analytics and project development goals.

Qualifications

5+ years of power engineering experience with transmission planning specialization.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Advanced knowledge of power systems and ISO study practices.
Experience with planning software for transmission analysis (steady state, stability, transfer).
Ability to work across multiple ISO territories and mentor others.

Responsibilities

Lead transmission modeling and analysis to identify optimal interconnection locations.
Review ISO/utility study deliverables and evaluate upgrade requirements.
Create scopes of work for engineers and manage third-party consultants.
Develop SOPs for study methodologies and train junior engineers.
Support project developers through feasibility and queue assessment.
