Avangrid is seeking a highly skilled Lead Transmission Planning Engineer to join our Rochester, NY team. You will identify and develop transmission investments to modernize the electric grid and support the clean energy transition.

As Lead Engineer, you will perform advanced power system studies, mentor staff, and collaborate with internal teams and industry peers. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience are required, with advanced degrees or certifications a

Qualificações

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (related discipline) required.
Minimum 7 years of industry experience in planning or operation of transmission and distribution power systems.

Responsabilidades

Collaborate, perform, and lead reliability and/or economic driven studies including voltage, thermal, PV, transfer limit, short circuit, and stability assessments.
Analyze and assess complex transmission systems at numerous voltage levels and document results with recommendations.
Innovate to increase precision and efficiency of transmission planning.
Mentor and develop team members to meet business needs.
Collaborate with internal teams and industry peers on regional activities (e.g. NPCC, ISOs).
Understand planning criteria and analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, ASPEN).
Participate in site inspections, workshops, and trainings; assist during storm restoration.
