Job summary
Avangrid Networks in Rochester, NY is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design and support high/medium/low voltage transmission and distribution projects within NYSEG service territories, as part of the Transmission Line Deficiency program.
You will assist in developing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as plans, structure drawings, and KMZ files; apply RUS, Avangrid, and NESC standards; utilize AutoCAD, PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, and Google Earth to model and analyze systems; support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 years of total engineering experience; CAD and database tools proficiency.
- Knowledge of transmission line infrastructure design, analysis and code compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee engineering studies across project phases.
- Develop and review engineering deliverables (plans, profiles, drawings).
- Apply industry standards (RUS, Avangrid, NESC) to designs.
- Use CAD/PLS tools for design, modeling and analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with procurement, construction, and operations.
