Job summary

Rochester Gas & Elec Corp. is seeking a Senior Engineer for Strategic Programs in Rochester, NY. The role focuses on identifying and developing transmission system investments to modernize the grid and support the clean energy transition.

You will perform advanced power system studies using industry tools like PSS/E, ASPEN, TARA, and CYME, while communicating findings to stakeholders and guiding project scoping and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in planning or operation of transmission and distribution power systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Advanced degree and/or professional certifications give additional consideration.

Responsibilities

• Perform and collaborate on power system studies (steady-state, stability, short-circuit, transfer limit).
• Communicate results clearly to stakeholders and document engineering analyses.
• Represent NYSEG and RG&E in national/regional forums.
• Lead scoping, analysis, and QA of technical studies; ensure timely deliverables.
• Support storm restoration as assigned.
