Job summary

1898 & Co., a Burns & McDonnell division, is seeking Transmission Planning Consultants to support our nationwide consulting practice and deliver data-driven grid solutions. You will perform comprehensive transmission planning studies and help clients address generation retirements, renewable integration, congestion management, and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, produce concise technical reports and client-ready presentations, and mentor

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transmission planning, power system analysis, or electric utility consulting.
• ABET accredited engineering degree; PE license preferred.
• Experience with power system planning and operations and relevant standards (NERC/FERC).

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission planning and operational studies (power flow, stability, short-circuit, etc.).
• Develop technical reports and client-facing presentations with study results and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to methodological improvements.
• Support business lines and travel as required.
