Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a qualified Lead Engineer - Transmission Lines for our client’s office in Binghamton, NY. This role features a hybrid work schedule and active involvement in capital projects and complex routing decisions.

Responsibilities include leading transmission line design, conducting reviews with PLS-CAD, ensuring compliance with AVANGRID TM standards and NESC, and driving right-of-way and routing strategies to optimize reliability and cost.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of engineering experience in the functional area.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• PE required.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall transmission line design for all capital projects.
• Review/Design transmission line plan and profile drawings using PLS-CAD.
• Ensure designs comply with AVANGRID TM standards and NESC/other standards.
• Drive routing and strategy for transmission lines, including right-of-way decisions.
• Assess whether to rebuild existing lines or obtain ROW based on congestion and permitting.
• Perform detailed estimates and probabilistic modeling.
