LaBella Associates in Rochester, NY seeks a Lead Engineer - Transmission Lines to lead overall transmission line design for capital projects and ensure compliance with Client TM standards and NESC. The role involves technical leadership, design reviews, and coordination across teams.

Requirements include 5-10 years of transmission engineering experience, a BS in engineering or engineering technology, and PE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall transmission line design for capital projects.
• Review/Design transmission line plans using appropriate software and standards.

• Conductor selection, structure recommendations, insulation and grounding studies.
• Prepare detailed estimates and probabilistic analyses.
• Coordinate with project teams to meet milestones and standards.

Job description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for consideration to fill an open Lead Engineer - Transmission Lines position in our Client's office in Rochester, NY. This position will have a in-office schedule.

The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services.

The Lead Engineer will support capital projects associated with Transmission Lines.

A successful candidate will be self- motivated with the willingness to learn, train, and continue building their knowledge through classes in the electrical industry. The candidate will be trustworthy and punctual have a positive attitude, flexibility, and possess leadership skills.

Salary Range:$100,000 - $140,000

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Responsibilities

• Conductor Selection
• Structure recommendations
• Insulation, A/C interference, static wire, grounding studies
• Line Design: Plans and Profiles, Cross section details
• LiDAR and aerial photo data
• Utilization of wetlands, vernal pool and sensitive resource data in line and structure design and placement
• Detailed estimate and probability modeling
• Other studies as required to complete the projects
• Lead overall transmission line design for all capital projects
• Review/Design transmission line plan and profile drawings using PLSCAD to ensure compliance with Client TM standards and NESC/other standards
• Drive the project plan for transmission line routing and strategy, specifically:
• Decide whether to rebuild existing lines or obtain additional right of way based on area congestion and local politics/permitting issues
• Determine required structure designs based on design constraints
• Determine routing in and around into congested stations to optimize design/reliability and minimize the number of crossings
