Job summary

Fortiva, a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization, seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join the Power Solutions team in Atlanta, GA. This role leads design for overhead and underground transmission lines and supports high-profile grid projects across the United States.

You will mentor engineers, manage projects, and interface with clients and regulators while ensuring compliance with U.S. codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for the Engineer III; 10+ years for Senior Engineer.
• Strong experience with PLS software suite and ArcGIS.
• Familiarity with U.S. codes and standards; thermal upgrading and line condition assessments.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred.
• Experience leading design teams and interfacing with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design and engineering of overhead transmission line projects (12 kV to 500 kV) and underground transmission line projects (12 kV to 230 kV) from conceptual design through construction.
• Prepare conceptual designs and detailed engineering packages for HV & MV poles, foundations, structural analysis, and material specifications.
• Act as a project engineer or project manager when required, source active RFPs, and develop proposals to help secure growing T&D projects.
• Help build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of T&D engineers while coordinating across civil/structural, substation, and protection disciplines.
• Interface directly with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and permitting agencies; conduct field reviews during construction.
