Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer in Chicago to manage a senior engineering team on electric transmission line projects from 34.5 kV to 500 kV. You will serve as both lead engineer and project manager, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC standards across design, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction phases.

You will direct a team of engineers performing PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading calculations, drafting plans, and BOM preparation while fostering client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading transmission line design teams.
• Experience applying standards (NESC, ASCE, NEC).

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams on overhead and underground transmission projects.
• Develop and mentor Leidos' engineering talent.
• Oversee staff performance, timesheets, and reviews.
• Lead leadership initiatives for the Transmission Line Section.
• Prepare responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and define scope of work.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and tools.
