Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to design and analyze high-voltage transmission systems, including overhead and underground lines. The role emphasizes independent execution and collaboration with project teams, using industry tools like PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience in electric utility transmission, strong communication skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Strong teamwork and written communication abilities; able to work with client and project teams.
• Occasional travel may be required; work in client offices is possible.

Responsibilities

• Execute design and engineering tasks for high-voltage transmission lines per codes and standards.
• Prepare and review drawings, specs, and calculations under guidance of Lead Engineers or PMs.
• Perform analyses including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by learning new tools and automation platforms.
• Coordinate project progress with the PM to adhere to schedule and budget.
