Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer in the United States. You will design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range, perform cost analyses, develop design criteria, and coordinate routing and siting with clients and vendors.

You will direct a small project team, mentor less experienced staff, and support proposals and cost estimates. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, three days in the office and two remote, with relocation assistance depending on location.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Proficient with PLS-CADD to review transmission line models.
• 7+ years on transmission line design, cost estimates, scheduling, specs, and construction coordination.
• Knowledge of right-of-way requirements, conductor sag/tension, and drawings.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, ACI 318).
• Excellent MS Office skills and clear written/verbal communication.
• Attention to detail in engineering documents and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Conduct cost analyses and develop design criteria; route and site transmission lines.
• Perform conductor selection studies, grounding and shielding analyses.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify line components.
• Direct a small project team.
