Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced transmission line engineer to design lines from 69kV to 500kV and lead related cost analyses and criteria development. You will review conductor selection, routing and siting, and coordinate with vendors and clients.

The role requires an ABET‑accredited BS, 7+ years of project experience, and strong communication skills. Hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days is offered.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software to review transmission line models.
• 7+ years on a project team handling schedules, budgets and transmission line design.
• Knowledge of right of way, conductor sags/tensions, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with design codes such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Conduct cost analyses and develop design criteria, routing and siting.
• Perform conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Collaborate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
