Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Principal Transmission Engineer to lead a team of engineers and technicians in designing, estimating costs, and communicating technical information to clients.

This role requires supervising staff, ensuring adherence to safety codes, and coordinating with multiple departments on project execution. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited program, active PE licensure, and 10+ years of transmission design experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Active PE licensure.
10+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
Experience supervising engineers and technicians while ensuring quality and reliability.
Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
Manage schedules and assign technical staff projects and daily work.
Mentor and develop staff in technical engineering principles and safety codes.
Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders and review designs before submission.
Provide guidance on company policies, safety, and use of tools and equipment.
Collaborate with department managers to develop new policies reflecting best practices.
