Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Transmission Engineer to join our team in Overland Park, KS.

The role focuses on supervising technical designers and engineers in transmission design, cost estimation, and communicating complex information to customers, while ensuring adherence to safety codes and client procedures. The incumbent will oversee staff development, collaborate with engineers on substation and line projects, and coordinate with department managers to implement

Qualifications

ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering.
Active PE licensure.
10+ years of Power Transmission Design supervisory experience.
Ability to supervise engineers and technicians while preserving quality and reliability.
Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE standards.
Proficiency in PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Supervise technical staff in engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
Manage schedules and assign projects and daily work.
Mentor staff and enforce safety and codes.
Coordinate reviews and develop policies reflecting best practices.
Maintain client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
Perform duties of Transmission Engineering Manager when unavailable.
